What XINGO helps you practise

  • All three parts, on real timings, with an examiner who doesn't give feedback mid-test
  • Estimated band with feedback on fluency & coherence, vocabulary and grammar
  • Practice extending answers and speaking for the full two minutes

Not covered (yet)

  • Pronunciation (a quarter of the real band) — the estimate leaves it out
  • An official band score — your score is an estimate from an AI examiner, not an official result.

Tips from the marking criteria

  1. 1

    Extend every answer

One-line Part 1 answers cap your band. Add a reason and an example.

  2. 2

    Use the full two minutes

In Part 2, cover every prompt on the card and keep going until the examiner stops you.

  3. 3

    Don't memorise

Examiners spot rehearsed answers. Practise flexible language instead of scripts.

How a session works

  1. Step 1

    Read your task card

Each scenario starts with a card like the real exam's: the setting, who you are and what you need to do.

  2. Step 2

    Speak with a realistic partner

The AI plays the patient, relative, colleague or examiner. Hold Space (or the mic button) while you talk. The session is timed like the exam.

  3. Step 3

    Get exam-style feedback

An estimated score against the exam's own criteria, plus specific notes on what to fix next time.

Questions

Is the band accurate?+

It's an estimate based on three of the four criteria from your transcript. Pronunciation isn't included.

Is this the same for Academic and General Training?+

Yes — the Speaking test is the same for both.

What band do I need in Australia?+

It depends on your visa, university or registration body. Check the official requirement for your pathway.

Does the examiner give feedback?+

Not during the test — just like the real thing. You get detailed feedback afterwards.
